Stefania Yarhi stopped me outside the tents on Tuesday to ask a few questions for Fashion Magazine.
What are you wearing and why?
“A 1970s silver fox collar, ‘60s blazer, ‘60s hand beaded blouse, Zara necklace, Noir spike bracelet, YSL cocktail ring, my mother’s first gold ring she got for her 16th birthday, Zara pants, vintage pony hair purse from Emporium by I Miss You, and the shoes are Boutique 9. I’m trying to go for a little bit of an unconventional fall look by incorporating some florals and really pulling my pastels into the colder weather.”
What are you doing at the tents?
“I work such long hours that I don’t often get to really see a lot of the people in my field, so it’s an opportunity to connect. I come because I love to see what the city has to offer and what the designers are doing. I take that inspiration back to my shop and it influences the way that I style vintage in my boutique.”
What do you like about Toronto fashion week?
“I love that there is such an intimacy in the Toronto community. I get to support not just the grander creative fashion world in the city but also individuals. You know that when you buy one of their pieces or go to the show that it’s going to someone who you genuinely like and respect.”
